Fair Play
Starfall Spire is a single-player game with one shared space: the weekly Rift ladder, where other players see your wizard name and score. These rules cover that space. You accept them when you name your wizard. Effective 26 September 2026.
Wizard names
Your wizard name is public on the Rift ladder, and players of all ages see it. Choose one that's fine for everyone. Not allowed:
- Swearing, slurs or sexual words, including with swapped letters, symbols or spacing.
- Hate or harassment aimed at any person or group.
- Real people's names used to impersonate or mock them, or names posing as Starfall Spire staff.
- Personal details: a full name, address, phone number, email or social media handle, yours or anyone else's.
- Ads, links, or promotion of another app, site or service.
- References to illegal drugs, violence or extremist groups.
Names are filtered automatically. A name that fails the filter shows as "A Wizard".
Playing fair
- Rift scores come from real runs in the official game. Our server replays every run and refuses scores that don't match.
- Don't modify the game, edit saves, or use tools that play or alter a Rift Trial for you.
- If you find a bug that gives an unfair edge, tell us instead of using it.
- Don't ask for a refund on something you mean to keep using. Refunded purchases may be removed from the game.
Reporting and hiding
Tap ⚑ next to a name on the ladder to report it. The name disappears from your ladder straight away. A report counts once the player who made it has a Rift run on the ladder, or first used cloud save or the Rift at least 3 days before. Three counted reports replace a name with "A Wizard" for everyone until a person on our team reviews it, within two days. If the name follows the rules, it comes back, and those reports never count again. To tell us more, or to report something else, email support@starfallspire.com.
If the rules are broken
If a person on our team confirms that a wizard name breaks the name rules:
- the name shows as "A Wizard" everywhere on the ladder, in every week;
- renames are locked for that Rift week and the 3 after it: runs the player sends meanwhile show as "A Wizard", whatever name they carry;
- it counts as a strike. If renames are still locked for an earlier name, there's no new strike, but the lock starts over from this week. A second strike, for a name confirmed after the lock ends, brings a new lock, and after it the ladder only shows a name the game makes up for the player (New name in the Rift tab).
The game tells the player why, in the Rift tab: the rule the name breaks, for how long, and how to appeal.
For cheating, or anything else that breaks these rules, and depending on how serious it is and how often it happens, we may also:
- remove runs from the ladder;
- keep the player off the ladder, for a week or for good.
We never take away the game itself: your progress, your purchases and everything you play offline keep working.
Appeals
If you think we got it wrong, email support@starfallspire.com with your wizard name, roughly when it happened, and your support info (in the game's Tome tab, under Help, tap Copy support info). A person reads every appeal, and we reply within 7 days. If we agree with you about a name, it shows again on the runs that carry it, and its rename lock and strike go too. Runs sent while renames were locked stay as "A Wizard".
